About me
Mr. Odongo earned three master’s degrees; (Two from Europe and one from his native Uganda), Currently, a PhD Student in Sociology with bias in Forced Migration & Refugee Studies at Makerere Univ. He serves as Humanitarian Advisor -Refugees & Emergency Response, for Irish Aid at Embassy of Ireland-Kampala. Prior to this he served as, Humanitarian and Emergency Coordinator /Deputy Humanitarian Programme Manager for the Oxfam Uganda refugee response programme coordinating Southern Sudanese & DRC Refugees emergencies and Response across four field response offices of Arua; Yumbe; Lamwo & Kyaka II.
Before, Mr. Odongo served as a Regional Manager (Team Lead) for RTI International - (USAID GAPP) Program –Lango Region; Humanitarian Programme Area Manager for Agency for Cooperation and Research in Development (ACORD-Uganda); Project Coordinator for Plan International; and Field Manager for USDC.
Mr. Odongo has a wide range of experience in disaster preparedness, emergency response, humanitarian programming emanating from over 16 years’ practical work in project management both at grass root levels NGOs and International NGOs in Northern, West Nile region and Kampala- Uganda. Mr. Odongos’ ambition is to enhance his career in both humanitarian work to achieve excellency, integrity and credibility in line with the organization or institutional strategies and policies.
