Despite several researches on refugees nationally, regionally and globally, less attention is given in analysing the existing refugees’ access to capitals assets and livelihood resources in the face of Uganda progressive refugee hosting model. This research comes timely to focus on one of the least researched area. Past studies in Uganda focused more on emergencies, with less attention have been given to post emergency phase, making it a relatively virgin of research. Secondly, this research comes timely, in humanitarian –development nexus phase, and is in line with the Uganda’s settlement transformative agenda (STA) incorporated into the National Development III; the Refugee Host Population Empowerment (ReHOPE) strategy, the Jobs and Livelihoods Integrated Response Plan (JLIRP), and the Refugees Response Plans (RRP).
