Emmanuel Amponsah Adjei

About me

Emmanuel Amponsah Adjei is a Post Doctoral fellow with MaRCCI and works with the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research -  Savannah Agricultural Research Insititute (CSIR – SARI), Ghana. He is a Plant Breeder in Roots and Tubers specializing in Yam Breeding. Adjei is a student representative/coordinator at Makerere Regional Center for Crop Improvement (MaRCCI). As part of his PostDoc duties, he provides technical assistance in the seed systems activities, trails establishment, and also assists in student proposals and thesis reviews. His research interest is in the development of breeding pipelines for crop improvement, Identification/determination of useful traits, and development of KARP markers for speed breeding in crops. Amponsah Adjei specialized in diversity and genome-wide mapping of useful traits in Uganda yam germplasm in his Ph. D studies at Makerere University, Uganda. Amponsah actively participates in students' research activities and passionately gets involved in developmental activities.
